Halloween Skeleton Selfie

Skull Portrait

So it’s the 1st of october and that means it’s time for my annual Halloween Selfie. I’ve been a vampire, a daemon and a zombie before. This year I’m a skeleton bohoooo. You could have done a skeleton make-up but I’m not really talented at that so I used Photoshop to create this spooky Halloween self portrait. If you want to know how I made this, leave me a comment and I will whip up a tutorial.

Halloween Self Portrait

So this was my Halloween profile picture for Facebook of last year. I change my profil picture every year for my favorite Holiday. I don’t know what it’s going to be this year but I’m considering to become a witch. Idea’s are welcome!

Another Selfportrait

I went to Disneyland in Paris earlier this week which was pretty amazing but also very cold. Luckily that ment that the lines were super short, like 5 min waiting time short 🙂

Well I picked up those cute minnie mouse ears and I already knew I would use them as a prop in a new selfie. And here it is 🙂

Love my Remote Control- Selfportrait

I wasn’t really planning to take those selfportraits today but on my way home I drove by this little strip of canola. Seriously it’s a small strip like 1 meter wide (yupp european measurements ) And it was gorgeous outside so I went home, grabed my camera and went back with my tripod and my remote control. I love how these turned out! Wish I had more friends living close by so I could just call them up and be like: Photoshoot in 5! Haha 🙂

Double Exposure

I felt a little creative today so I decided to play a bit in Photoshop. I’m really faszinated by all those double exposure pictures floating trough Pinterest. So I thought about using one of my New York pictures and a selfportrait and create the effect myself. You can create that effect in camera but also afterwars in post processing. If you like the pic and would like a Tutorial, I’m more than happy to create one 🙂 IMG_5514

It’s my 24th birthday today!

Can’t believe another year has passed. This year is going to be full of grown up desicions.

Moving back to Germany is one of them. Beginning again a new life another. I’m currently signing up for Universities all over Germany. Le’ts just cross fingers that I’ll get a spot and I can start studying Media Management. That would be a dream!

Today I’m going to spend my birthday working, the whole day until 10pm at night. Yes, not really a great way to celebrate but hey with 24 unfortunately you’re too grown up to complain about missing cake and party hats. I’ll have a nice dinner with friends this thursday. And for Memoriald Day weekend I’ll travel to Annapolis with a good friend. So overall it won’t be too bad.

And so I’m off to work. Maybe I’ll stop at Starbucks and buy a Birthday Cake Pop.

Studio shoot from a long time ago…

I did this somewhen in 2009. But it reminded me of the self portrait I did earlier this week.

The longer I work in photography the more I’m drawn to natural lightning. I think after a couple of years you just find your own style and you develop a better eye.

I used to work in a Studio and it was great. I had an amazing time and there are definitely things you just cannot achieve in natural lightning. I don’t know why but I think it’s harder to work in a Studio. You’re limited to a certain space and accessories. But on the other hand some people say natural lightning is harder. I think it all depends n your personality and style. I think if you have a passion for it you make it work no matter what.

Studio Portrait without a Studio – Selfportait

Long story short I bought a new Lipstick on the weekend and I loooove the color. It’s a Maybelline New York 24h ( and boy it sticks forever!)

So of course being all girly I wanted a new picture with it.  Just like in my earlier self portrait found here I used the white side of my reflector as a backdrop.

Right in front of me was a big window so I had a lot of natural light. I used my Canon 5d Mark I with my Tamron 24-75mm at around 50mm with f/4 and 1/100. I think ISO was around 1250 because it wasn’t that bright today.

I really like how it turned out but it’s pretty hard to handheld and make it look like it’s not. I’m considering buying a wireless shutter remote control. Suggestions anyone?

I tried different outfits and positions but in the end I decided that less is more. I couldn’t resist but goof around at the end after all that posing, it was necessary. Love to hear your opinion 🙂
